A very interesting class activity conducted this week involved groups splitting into male and female to debate on the topic of hand - "females right to vote taken away" or "males right to vote taken away" with the opposite sex trying to convince the opposing group.
Brainstorming ideas and aiming to engage in the mind of the opposite sex presented two common stereotypes of 'men only think about sex' and 'women are only satisfied with a lot of money'. Both groups came to conclusions that to take the right to vote away brought up campaigns for a bro's day compiling of beers, beach, BBQ and topless waitresses and women having a tax free, days filled with shopping and day spas and unlimited opportunities to do what they want?
Overall it brought many laughs and also gave the class a chance to discuss and express individual ideas when faced with a difficult topic that needs to be campaigned.
And typically the outcome was that each gender thought they knew what the other actually wanted...or did they!
